Jonathan Mangelinckx is a graphic and international design studio.
The studio, based in Brussels, the Capital of Europe, specializes in the field of typography, packaging, visual communication, set design.
Working with multiple music labels, the platform is interested in marrying pictures and sounds.
Thus defining the artwork of a piece of music as a poster, a symbol, a visual score.
Using vectorial image, as the principal weapon in order to approach the most possible the universe of electronic music, it combines geometric shapes of various and disordered colors for a minimalist result.
These artworks balance between the world of art photography and the world of abstract painting.

Travaillant avec de multiples labels de musique, cette plateforme s'intéresse aux mariages des images et des sons.
Définissant ainsi le artwork d'une pièce de musique comme une affiche, un pictogramme, une partition visuelle.
Utilisant l'image vectorielle, comme arme principal afin d'approcher le plus possible l'univers de la musique électronique, il combine des formes géométriques désordonnées et des couleurs diverses pour un résultat minimal.
Ces artworks se balancent entre le monde de la photographie plasticienne et le monde de l'abstraction picturale.

The UNOIKI Calendar 2010 is
a project, which works like
a monthly calendar for 2010.
Each month one exclusive track and artwork is released and
is available as a free download for one week.
At the end of this project, the label organizes an exhibition for which I was asked to realize the scenography.
I had for mission to present all the artworks by realizing an installation which summarized the collaboration between Unoiki and Mangelinckx studio.
Realized within the framework of the project DECOSTATION, financed by the Region of Brussels Capitale, Atrium Midi, the STIB and the SNCB-Holding, with the support of the municipality of Saint-Gilles.

At the end of this project, the label organizes an exhibition(exposure) and commands(orders) me to realize the scenography of this one.
Each of the cubes represents a different frequency of the spectrum of radio interference – how they combine like instruments
in an orchestra, and the different movements they play within
a musical piece.
Their interaction creates an aural perception through the visual sense.
